2009 murder
The school's Father Edward Hinds was murdered in October 2009 by Jose Feliciano, a janitor at the church. Hinds had completed a review of Feliciano's employment records weeks before the murder and discovered that the background check required by the Paterson Diocese for all employees had not been performed for Feliciano. Hinds told the school's principal two days before the murder that Feliciano would be fired. Upon being told that he would be terminated, Feliciano is believed to have killed Hinds in anger.External links
