Sadiq Batcha was the Managing Director of Green House Promoters Private Limited.
Those who know his origin say he would buy land from someone and give the party a token sum upfront. Then, when he sold it to a bigger party at a profit, he would settle the original party using the proceeds.
As he tried to diversify, he took huge sums of loans from banks and private lenders.As some of these ventures failed, he solicited the help of a lawyer, A Raja.Later Raja entered politics.
Soon allegations started surfacing that whenever important infrastructure projects were announced for Perambalur, the land was already acquired at low rates by Batcha.

The Green House Promoters, from being a nondescript company with an equity base of Rs 100,000 in 2004, grew to over Rs 600 crore revenue company within a short time. The CBI is investigating the rapid growth of the company.
The company also indirectly benefited from the spectrum scam
by getting shares of a company which, in turn, became a partner in Swan Telecom,one of the beneficiaries of the first-come-first-served policy followed by the then minister for Telecom in India.
. Some believe that this was not a suicide,that there is a mystery behind his death.
He was found hanging at his house on Wednesday and declared brought dead at a private hospital.In a long letter, which started with an apology,, he blamed none for his suicide and he felt sorry for Raja's plight, he expressed his wish to be reborn and wanted his siblings to be happy and his wife and children to stay in Chennai for their education.
At present, the police are seeing this as a case of suicide, but they do not rule out foul play either.
It is believed that Batcha had with him too much information and he was the man who would have given CBI the exact map of the 2G money trail.
It is also alleged that he was the link between the 2G money and also the underworld and the hawala operators.
Lately,Mr Batcha was alleged to have been involved in the 2G spectrum scam.Investigation by the Central Bureau of investigation alleged that his company, Greenhouse, was the front company belonging to Raja, and all the money earned through the 2G spectrum scam was parked in various places through this company. The investigations have also shown that Batcha handled all the money which came into Raja's hand.
The CBI wanted the names of four very crucial persons who helped Batcha route the money between India and Singapore. These men are alleged to be operatives of the Dawood gang.Sources say the CBI wanted to grill Batcha further on this on Wednesday.
The doctor who performed an autopsy and postmortem on the body of Sadiq Batcha has resigned from government service.Dr V Dekal, who heads the department of forensic sciences at the Madras Medical College, said he had put in his papers on March 3, over a fortnight before Batcha's suicide, to contest the Tamil Nadu assembly elections.The Directorate of Public Health has reportedly rejected Dr V Dekal's resignation on grounds of shortage of staff and that he did not provide sufficient notice.However, Dekal said that he was only on contract with the Health Department and could, therefore, quit any time
.Dr Dekal's father was a DMK member.

will send a team consisting of AIIMS doctors to probe Mr. Batcha's death.
