Skills are required for proper storage and easy transportation of the products, consequently making printing and packaging an attractive career avenue, that has grown tremendously over the years attracting the youth to take it up as a career in India. Started in the year 2006, the department has the most sophisticated laboratories with very high end equipment, collaborations with the printing and packaging industry and experienced faculty.

Bio-Technology

The department was established in 2009 offering an undergraduate engineering degree in Bio-technology. The number of career opportunities for Bio Technology is expected to increase twice as fast as for other science and engineering fields over the next decade. This exciting course is designed to give students theoretical and practical skills needed for a career in Biotechnology in industry and research organizations. The objective of the course is to make the students understand and analyze the fundamentals of modern biotechnology and highlights its applications with regards to microorganisms, plants and animals and medicine. All the necessary infrastructure has been developed with high end laboratories for Microbiology, Plant tissue culture, chemical engineering, bioinformatics, to name a few.

Mechanical Engineering

This department will start its full functioning in 2012. Being introduced in 2011, the students are already admitted to the First Year Engineering. Well equipped laboratories in this regard are being developed.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell

The institute has also started an Entrepreneurship Development (EDP) Cell called "Young Turks", which helps and guides young students onto the road of entrepreneurship and empowers them be the leaders of tomorrow. IEEE- SIES GST is the oldest student body of SIES-GST with students from all the branches being members of it. It is an active body in organising all extra-curricular activities in the college robotics being the highlight.

IETE (International Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering) is the most recent student body formed in SIES-GST. It plays an active role in organizing extra-curricular events in the college. It will play host to a national level Technical Paper Presentation in 2012.

Tatva-Moksh Lakshya

The Annual Inter-College Technical and Cultural Festival of SIES GST is Tatva Moksh. Tatva for TechFest & Moksh for Cultural Fest, while Lakshya is the Sports fest. It is one of the biggest inter-college cultural fests in the city with participation from hundreds of students from over 50 colleges from Thane, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Raigad.
It is widely known for events such as technical paper presentation, Robotics, LAN gaming. On the cultural side Moksh '11 had hip hop culture events, which included B-Boying, Rapping and Beatboxing. One of the highlights for adventure lovers included a rappelling show.

Distortion

Part of the Moksh Festival, Distortion is the Rock show held annually to mark the end of Moksh. Distortion 2011 was headlined by three bands- Zygnema, Coshish and Black. It also organises an amateur rock band competition.

Cognition

It is the annual intra-college technical festival of SIES GST.
The most anticipated among GSTians TUG-OF-WAR is its highlight.

Impressions

The Printing and Packaging Technology department organises its own annual festival Impressions on the occasion of World Printers's Day.

Techxter

Techxter is an upcoming national level event in Feb 2012 under the banner of ISF-SIES GST & Department of IT.

Matrix

Its an annual Inter - Collegiate Olympiad for the First Years.
It holds academic events.

Sports

"Lakshya" is the awaited event for sports. It has organised Cage football, Box Cricket & other events.

Magazines

The college releases its magazine Samanvay and Impulse on an annual basis.
