Rose Island is a small island
in the Bahamas that lies 3 miles east of Paradise Island
, which lies directly off of New Providence
Island. As of yet the island has no formal residential infrastructure, and no roads. The Island however is used as a station for trained Dolphin
encounter experiences, and thus there are docks and infrastructure pertaining to that purpose on a sea-accessed inland cove. The largest mass of the island is made up of a shallow inland lagoon in the center of the island. Some parts of the island can have an elevation of up to 52 feet. The island has a thin peninsula which juts out east an additional 7 miles.
The island's coast was used as the filming location for the crash-landing of a Vulcan Bomber in the 1965 James Bond
