Amateur career

Rene had a stellar amateur career, winning the 2005 National Golden Gloves, at 178 lbs.

Pro career

Nicknamed "The Tank", Rene made his professional debut in 2005 at the age of 19 and won his first 11 bouts with 6 KO's.

Troubles Outside the Ring

Rene's promising career was sidetracked in October 2009, when he was criminally charged with two counts of felony "child cruelty" for allegedly "locking two children out of their home because they were 'bothering him'." The children were locked outside of the home for 30 minutes in the rain.
