Rob attended Smithtown High School in Smithtown, NY. Upon his graduation Rob attended Deerfield Academy for a post-graduate year. From Deerfield, he entered Cornell University where he currently attends.
In 2011 he was voted the National Player of the Year by the coaches of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association
and presented with the Lt. Raymond Enners Award
as the NCAA’s most outstanding player in men's college lacrosse.
Rob was awarded the Jack Turnbull Award
as the Division I National Attackman of the Year for the second consecutive year in 2011.
He is a three-time All-American and is the reigning two-time Ivy League Player of the Year.
He has been nominated for a 2011 ESPY Award from ESPN in the category of Best Male College Athlete. He is one of five finalists in the category for 2011 and the only Lacrosse player to ever be nominated.
