. It has approximately 1,320 students, as it is a middle school and high school. The current Principal is Lori O'Mara. It was a middle school only until 1999 when in response to community demand, a high school was added. With the addition of a high school 8th graders are automatically admitted to the high school. However, they can also go to other schools such as Bronx High School of Science . RKA is known as the number one feeder for specialized high schools.

Curriculum

In addition to a diverse college preparatory curriculum, Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy offers a middle school Honors Program, Advanced Placement courses, and enrollment courses through Hunter College

(high school) and CHAMPS (middle school). The high school teams include baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, softball, volleyball, and wrestling; the middle school teams include, dance, tennis, and wrestling. Cross country and tennis are played at the club level. The baseball team won the 2010 Division B Championship, finishing with a perfect 21-0 record.

Demographics

According to the CEP report, Black or African American make up 14% of the school's population, Hispanic or Latino 51%, Asian or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander 9%, and White 26%.
