Execution

This warm-up is performed by standing in a neutral position with the feet hip-width apart and the arms at the sides. The knees are bent slightly while the upper-body remains upright. Keeping the feet flat on the floor, the performer bounces rapidly in the knees while allowing their arms to go limp, in effect "rattling" the upper-body. The warm-up appears as though the performer is shaking their torso and arms.

The warm-up may be combined with releasing the voice in a low "uhh" sound while performing the "rattling". This allows for a combined physical and vocal warm-up effect.

The exercise is generally performed for 15–30 seconds at a time.
