Rasun, formerly known as Rawsun, is an American urban reggae artist with deep roots in the reggae
and hip hop
communities.
At the age of 12 Rasun began singing with his father's band and by 14 was playing drums for the group full time. With the passing of his father on Jan. 25th 1998 Rasun became the lead vocalist for Strictly Roots. In 2003, he and brother Don Juan C. went solo and signed their first record deal with Lure Records in Los Angeles, California.

Biography
Rasun was raised in the San Francisco Bay area of California. His father, Jahsun, was the founder and a member of the band Strictly Roots.At the age of 12 Rasun began singing with his father's band and by 14 was playing drums for the group full time. With the passing of his father on Jan. 25th 1998 Rasun became the lead vocalist for Strictly Roots. In 2003, he and brother Don Juan C. went solo and signed their first record deal with Lure Records in Los Angeles, California.
