. Following his fathers foot steps he shot in to fame among the young music fans. In 1996 he did a song with his father, May Lowa Gemburui, for his maiden album.

He started his pre-schooling when he was at the age of four. He later enrolled at Nalanda College in Colombo. In 1998 his father died; after that Mallawarachchi's music carrier was changed, because producers invited him to sing his fathers famous songs under their trade marks. He has released about 17 albums to date. In 2010 he moved to Australia with his family.
