motorcycles under the brand name Rajdoot from 1962. Various derivatives were produced with slight changes in cycle parts, suspension and transmission. Production continued for over four decades. It is powered by a 2 stroke engine that proved so good that it became a staple with Indian milkmen (Doodwala in Hindi or Palkar in Tamil). These people ride the most rugged rural paths on the way to farmers who sell their own family cow's milk. Then, delivering the milk to shops and homes, they stop and start frequently resulting in heavy wear usage. Added India's climate which is even hotter around the Bihar / Mhadya Pradesh / Uttar Pradesh, the stronghold rural belt of this model resulting in a ruthless trial ground for any machine.

Rajdoot sold about 1.6 million black "soviet" styled motorbikes, in the Excel T and Deluxe models, until it was phased out in 2005 by Yamaha, the new owner of Indian 'Escorts' company, the original manufacturer. Due to Euro II regulations, as per Japanese management.

In 2007 the Rajdoot already looked as a surviving dinosaur in a world of streamlined and colorful motorcycles. Currently, in 2011, these bikes are quite rare on rural roads.
