Zaildar Raja Sajjawal Khan of Mehmunpur
was the son of Raja Diwan Khan. He was first Muslim Zaildar
in his area. He had great political stature in all over Jammu Kashmir and northern Punjab
. He was well known in elites of pre-partition erra with whom he had cordial relations. He hosted the first meeting of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference
in Mehmunpur
in which Chaudhary Ghulam Abbas, Sheikh Abdullah, Sardar Ibrahim Khan, Raja Muhammad Akbar Khan
etc. participated. This meeting was presided by Raja Muhammad Akbar Khan
.
He defeated Badri Nath in elections held for the position of Zaildar
(assessor). In 1953, he died, leaving three sons;
