Jairam Valji Chauhan better known as Rai Bahadur Jairam Valji, was a reputed Railway Contractor & Miner, who owned several dolomite and limestone mines in and around present day Chhattisgarh

He was also a reputed Railway Contractor of his times and had built many Railway bridges, railway line mainly in Bengal Nagpur Railway line. British authorities had given him title of Rai Bahadur for his achievements in Railway and also honored by naming the Jairamnagar
railway station after him in 1929, a rare honor in those days. He used to work as Railway Contractor with his main office at Raigarh
and there is still a colony named after him called Jairam Valji Colony at Raigarh. His native village was Kumbharia
