Morais began acting at the age of 14, he studied at the Professional Theatre School of Cascais, Lisbon.

Morais made his debut as a film actor in 2008's Doomed Love directed by Mário Barroso, Portugal's official submission to the Best Foreign Language Film Award for the 2010 Academy Awards
