The station appeared as Happy Valley Station in previous proposals, and was listed in alignment C in the 2005 proposal, which, if chosen, would have been built together with an interchange with the Island Line

In January 2009, the government decided not to construct the station after considering economic efficiency, construction time, nuisance to residents and interruption to traffic.
