, Qatadah was struck in his eye and his eyeball was hanging down on to his cheek. The Companions wanted to cut it off, but first they asked Muhammad's opinion, and he told them not to do so. He then made du'a (supplicated) on Qatadah's behalf and placed his eyeball back in its place. Afterwards it is said that he could not tell which eye had been struck.

One weak hadith narrates that he received a miraculous stick from Muhammad
