Plot

After his family are murdered a young man is adopted by a neighboring widow and raised with her two children. Although welcomed into the family Jeb feels constantly threatened by Grant, the widow's brother-in-law. This man makes at least one attempt on Jeb's life. Eventually the young man volunteers to fight in the Spanish-American War
