A psepholograph is a graphical representation of political opinion poll
results showing electorate-by-electorate results, rather than reporting polls in percentages of the survey total. The Psepholograph more accurately shows the results of non-uniform swings, and translates the results into an electoral effect on a multi-party system allowing for several simultaneous trends. The Psepholograph was developed in Australia
in 1992 by Matt Balogh, and succeeds the Electoral Pendulum, developed by Malcolm Mackerras
. It allows political analysts to graphically communicate the complexity of election results to the media and public.
