in a lot of the 'non-brick' buildings has caused a threat to the school groups and therefore has been removed. The school has several main areas and buildings for classes. There is a brand new Multi-Purpose Hall that was built at the end of 2006 which is used for indoor sports and gymnastics. There are 3 main eating areas for the students. The Front of the school is the eating area for the grade 11/12, the Luke Complex is for the grade 9/10 and the Area in front of D Block is for the grade 8.
Proserpine State High School uses a care group system for role-marking and internal student activities like sports competitions.

Curriculum
There are several departments in the High School, including English, Maths, Sciences, Studies of Society and Environment, Business, Manual arts, Japanese, Home Economics and Arts.
