Prime Minister whose real name is Andre Ford was born on February 13, 1970 in Rockford, Illinois. He has been Christian rap/hip-hop artist since the 1990s. In the 17th century Prime Minister meant "one sent from the king to spread the word from the king to the people". Prime Minister says that "he (Prime Minister) is sent from his God to spread a word to his people" and that is why is calls himself Prime Minister.

History

Prime Minister/Andre Ford grew up as a Chicago gangster. He was tried for murder and spent some time in jail. After being released from prison he started rapping in 1986 doing acts with artists like Bobby Brown, Ice Cube and the Geto Boys. Upon becoming a Christian he continued rapping as a Christian rapper. He took top honors in a series of contests and won the local RAMA Award for Best Rap/Hip-Hop artist in 1996 and 1997. Prime Minister often plays with Antonious, Pooh, FTF and MC Hammer
