, when fully leased, will host over 40 specialty shops. At around 8,000 square metres, Portico Plaza is larger than a typical Australian supermarket based neighbourhood shopping centre with a higher proportion of retail and non-retail specialty stores. Over 1,500 square metres has been reserved for discount fashion aimed to satisfy customers from the immediate and surrounding target trade areas.

The shopping centre, along with the approved development to build above the shopping centre approximately 143 apartments, complete with lap pool and tennis courts, replaces the old Piccadilly Shopping Centre on Aurelia St, Toongabbie, NSW. The apartments are expected to be completed sometime in 2010.

The completion of the shopping centre temporarily stalled due to financial difficulties faced by the original developer. In March 2009, under new management the finishing touches to centre were completed and the leasing of the remaining shops commenced.
