Plot

The film is set in a fictional village, located somewhere between Rajapalayam and Sivakasi in southern Tamil Nadu. It entails the selfless, deep love and admiration that Maari (Parvathi) develops for her cousin Thangarasu (Srikanth). Maari is shy and works in a Fire works company.

Her best friend is Cheeni (Inbanila), a practical girl who works with her in the fire works company. Tangarasu's father is against the idea of Tangarasu marrying Maari. Tangarasu too finds it not a good idea to marry someone in blood relation. Maari marries another man. However, she dreams for Thangarasu and his wife to become successful. Maari forgives him for his desertion. Later, when Maari finds out that her Tangarasu is not leading a happy life, she is heart broken.
