and strictly requires that you live in the zoned area. Plaza Vista Middle School, which starts at 6th grade there, is known for being very academically challenging with a couple of hours a homework each week day. It is one of 4 year-round schools in the Irvine Unified School District, and was recently given the title as one of California's Distinguished Schools.
