businessman and current president
of the Montreal Canadiens
since September 2, 1999, succeeding Ronald Corey
. Pierre is married to Lucie Nadeau and is the father of three children: Patrick, Catherine and Richard.

On July 5, 2010, Boivin announced that he will step down from his position as the President of the Montreal Canadiens on June 30, 2011. Geoff Molson, majority co-owner of the club, will replace him. Boivin will remain with the organization as a member of the board of directors.
