Piancavallo is situated at 1267 meters above sea level, at the foot of Monte Cavallo (2,251 m).

History

Piancavallo was created in the late 1960s, and was the first Italian ski resort with snowmaking facilities. Since the 1990s it has hosted several women's events in the alpine skiing World Cup

Skiing

There are 24 kilometers of alpine ski runs and 26 kilometers of cross-country ski trails. There is an Ice Palace, sled dog trails, a snow park for children, and snowtubing.
