. The type species, Pellegrinisaurus powelli, was described by Salgado in 1996, and is based on mostly vertebrae. Pelligrinisaurus is estimated to have been between 62–78 feet in length, but because a full fossil skeleton has not been recovered, this is only a rough estimate.
