Pearson Language Tests is a new unit of the Pearson PLC group, dedicated to assessing and validating the English language usage of non-native English speakers. Pearson PLC (; ) is one of the largest education and media companies in the world and owns many education and publishing companies such as Longman, The Financial Times, Penguin Books and Edexcel.
The tests and exams so far developed include the London Tests of English (to be known as PTE General from November 09) and the London Tests of English for Children (to be known as PTE Young Learners from November 09).

Pearson Language Tests is a new unit of the Pearson PLC group, dedicated to assessing and validating the English language usage of non-native English speakers. Pearson PLC (; ) is one of the largest education and media companies in the world and owns many education and publishing companies such as Longman, The Financial Times, Penguin Books and Edexcel.
The tests and exams so far developed include the London Tests of English (to be known as PTE General from November 09) and the London Tests of English for Children (to be known as PTE Young Learners from November 09). These are scenario based exams, recently accredited by the QCA and administered in association with Edexcel, which is now the UK’s largest examining body.
Pearson Language Tests is preparing to launch a new academic English test, Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) which is endorsed by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the organisation responsible for the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test).
PTE Academic will be delivered through the Pearson VUE centres which are also responsible for delivering the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) worldwide.
