History

The firm was founded in 1995 as a partnership between Paul Frank Sunich (usually known as Paul Frank) and two local businessmen Ryan Heuser and John Oswald

 , making vinyl accessories in a garage as gifts for their friends. From there the wallets and handbags became a local sensation. The firm was formally incorporated in 1998 and has since grown into a global brand with its own stores.

On Nov. 8, 2005, Frank left the company, but remained a stockholder. A lawsuit resulted, with the issue being whether he left voluntarily or was forced out by the other two partners.
