Patriotas FC was founded in 2003, when the then governor of Boyaca Miguel Ángel Bermúdez, together with then coldeportes chairman were created the club Patriotas G&J for the reason of sponsor. The Boyaca's club was in the Semi-Finals and was eliminated for the Boyacá Chicó.The next year, 2004, was advanced to the Semi-Finals and was eliminated for the Deportivo Antioquia, Centauros Villavicencio
