Patafunk
Encyclopedia
Patafunk is a Venezuelan band that combines dance, love, nature and spirituality -PATA- with a mixture of music genres like house, soul, tropical, reggae -FUNK- creating this way their very own unique sound.

The band was created in 2007 and is currently located in Brooklyn, New York. It's formed by Dj / Multi-Instrumentalist Cem Patafunk and Designer Su Patafunk. They're first album "Dubdelic" (2008) reached #2 in the Venezuelan "Record Report" list (Billboard equivalent) with the single "Surferston". Other songs like "I wish, I want", "Ok,La", and "Hacenda'o" also had an excellent reception by the venezuelan audience. That same year, Rolling Stone Latinamerica magazine voted the record as the best album of 2008. In 2010 they participated in the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, where they had the chance to appear in magazines like Billboard, Remezcla, and Spinner, among others. With they're new album, "Playa", they seek a much deeper sound, very characteristic of second productions, achieving a union between the unique energy of Patafunk and that perfect place where we all want to be.
