National Highway 31 is an important National Highway in India. It provides gateway to the states in North-East India. This long National Highway starts in Barhi, Jharkhand at the NH 2 and generally traverses in Northeast direction passing through Jhumri Tilaiya, Koderma, Nawada, Bihar Sharif,...

passes through it. NH 31 is actually "Gohain-Kamal Ali' which was built by Senapati Gohain-Kamal of Beer Chilarai of Kochbehar.

About Patacharkuchi

Patacharkuchi Vidyapith is one of the oldest Higher Secondary School established in 1935 by Late Harendra Chandra Sarma and Late Hareshwar Dev Choudhury. Late Sarma was the first Principal(that time head Master) of the school. In 1960 the school opens the higher secondary classes with three streams arts, science and commerce.

Patacharkuchi is strategically placed on the river Kaldia and early 19th century, a dak bunglow (rest camp for the Post man)and a thana (police station) was established by the British. This was the only police station in Bajali. Patacharkuchi Nimna Buniyadi School is one of the oldest primary school in that area established way back in 1862. In 1976, Patacharkuchi has advanced with a degree college, Pragjyoti College, and later the location and name changed to Nirmal Haloi College.

In 1965, a girls high school was established to promote the woman education in that area and that was a giant leap towatrd woman empowerment in that region. Very recently Patacharkuchi has four numbers of English medium high schools.
