for 27 year as a teacher, administrator, and the associate superintendent, the building was dedicated in 1961. The $550,000 building had glass in hallways and the multi-purpose room was the highlight. In 1966 the building experienced a $675,000 makeover to include ten classrooms, four special education rooms, two kindergartens, and a new gymnasium. A second addition was approved by the Parkland Board of School Directors in 1994. This $3.5 million dollar addition was not to increase student capacity, but instead, provide students with comparable facilities to the other elementary schools. Today, Parkway Manor Elementary School consists of 27 classrooms and has 663 students enrolled. Parkway Manor is the home of the “Panthers.”
