. It has also been called Hope Hospital and Methodist Hospital. The not-for-profit Parkview Health System now operates seven hospitals and several medical clinics throughout northeastern Indiana.

Services

Parkview is a level II trauma center with a flight ambulance program featuring two "Samaritan" helicopters.

The hospital holds 575 inpatient beds including a Surgical/Trauma ICU, a Medical ICU, a Pediatric/Teen ICU, the Family Birthing Center, the Parkview Heart Institte, two telemetry floors, a pediatric floor, a general medical floor, a general surgical floor, the Stanley Wissman stroke center, an Orthopedic/Neurosurgery unit, an oncology unit, and a sleep lab.

The hospital also houses a 28-bed Continuing Care Center, ostomy/wound care, and outpatient services.

Statistics

In 2006, Parkview had 22,138 inpatient discharges, nearly 15,000 surgeries, 1,594 births, and 1,109 helicopter flights.

Location and future

Parkview Hospital is located near downtown Fort Wayne between East State Boulevard and Lake Avenue. However, starting with the Family Birthing Center in February 2008, all of Parkview's specialty units will be moving to the future Parkview Regional Medical Center located near Dupont Road and Interstate 69
