The first Orange County Latino Film Festival was held in Historic Downtown Santa Ana

Downtown National Register District

The Historic Downtown District in Santa Ana, California is roughly bounded by Ross to French streets and First to Civic Center streets.This district is characterized by a number of buildings in the Art Deco style as well as three old movie houses . Orange County's first Courthouse is also located...

 in late 2004. Another festival was again held there in 2005 and experienced a larger turnout than the inaugural year.

Actors, actresses and industry professionals such as Maya Zapata, Michael Peña, Arturo Montiel, Eduardo Santamarina, Moctezuma Esparza, Leopoldo Laborde, Gerardo Tort, and Luis Kelly attended both festivals.

Organization

The first organizers and directors of the OCLFF were Manuel Saldívar, a protégé of Moctezuma Esparza, Freyr Thor, Olga Plateado and Armando CossyLeon.
