History

One place was developed by Riverock Technologies (http://www.RiverockTech.com) founded in 2007 by veteran software professionals Steve Kickert, CEO, and Denis Ahearn, CTO. Kickert was previously the CTO of HighJump Software, which was acquired in 2004 by the 3M Company. Ahearn has 19 years in the software industry and was previously director of product development at Superior Edge Inc. The company creates web-based solutions for problems in everyday life, designed to be used the way people want to work. Its tools are designed to make people and teams more productive. OnePlace™ has been in development since August 2007. It was released from beta in September 2008.

January 11, 2011 – Riverrock, merging with Bluewater Direct, direct marketing software and services provider.

Software

OnePlace is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) based team collaboration and project management system.

It was written in the Ruby programming language and built using the Ruby on Rails web framework. It also utilizes many Ruby gems and Rails plugins. For the database back end, it utilizes the MySQL
