The Nyali languages were treated as a dialect cluster by Guthrie. Ethnologue notes that Mbo, Ndaka, Budu, Vanuma, and Nyali are quite close. However, Beeke
and Ngbee
are more distant; Ethnologue suggests Beeke is closer to Bali
