county, Norway. The administrative centre was the village Nordfold.
It was created when Nordfold-Kjerringøy
was split into Nordfold and Kjerringøy
on 1 January 1906. At that time Nordfold had a population of 1,485.
On 1 January 1964 Nordfold was incorporated into its neighboring municipality Steigen
. At the same time most of the Mørsvikbotn
district was moved from Nordfold to Sørfold
. Prior to the merger Nordfold had a population of 1,212.
