Career

Nina Ulanova was born in 1978 and began skating in 1982. She and partner Mikhail Stifunin won the silver medal at the 1995 Russian Junior Championships. In 1996, they became the Russian Junior champions and the World Junior champions. They skated together until 1999, placing as high as 5th at the senior Russian Championships. For the 1999–2000 season, Ulanova teamed up with Alexander Pavlov, with whom she placed 4th at the 2000 Russian Championships
