. Neutersol was developed by Pet Healthcare International, Inc.  Neutersol was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for small puppies in 2003. In 2005 however, Pet Healthcare International severed its ties with its manufacturing partner Addison Biologicals, and production of the drug stopped. Neutersol had been expected to be reintroduced into the market by early 2009, but that plan was stalled. Ark Sciences, Inc. now has acquired the intellectual property to this method of sterilization and plans to reintroduce to the US market in 2012 using the safer Esterilsol injection technique used internationally.
