Successor to the post of the Nawab of Masulipatnam was Late Dawood Ali Mirza, former Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha (INC 11/12/1956-02/04/1962) married to Shah Begum had 4 sons and 2 daughters. Shri Dawood Ali Mirza died in 1987 was survived by Late Najaf Ali Mirza who then was survived by his wife and 2 sons, Late Wasif Ali Mirza survived by his wife and 2 sons and Riasath Ali Mirza with his wife and 2 children. The daughters Dureshawar married to Mr. Hussain Bukhari, former principal Saifee Jubilee College, Sidhpur, Ahmedabad India and Late Mrs. Zahra Mirza married to Abid Ali Mirza. Waris Ali Mirza was the eldest son in the family, who died in 1984 immediately after his mother was survived by his wife and one daughter.

The present Nawab of Masulipatnam is Riasath Ali Mirza living in Chennai, India. He succeeded Najaf Ali Mirza after his death on 11 November 2010 and Wasif Ali Mirza who died on 28 April 2008. They are the sons of Nawab Dawood Ali Mirza.
