The unicameral National Assembly of Guinea is the country's legislative body.

) system. Members serve five-year terms. Elections due in 2007 were postponed initially to November 2008 and then to May 2009; a military coup in December 2008 resulted in the dissolution of the National Assembly, and it is unclear when the next election will be held.
