 Art Production Company.
He is known for being the best star maker in the middle East, he doesn't just produce musical albums, he works on them from A to Z, he involves himself in the compositions, lyrics, arrangement and he sits by the sound engineer giving his opinion. And that is Nasr Mahrous' Magical touch.

Early life

Nasr Mahrous was born at home in Heliopolis, Cairo, the son of Mahrous Abdel Masih and Mathilda Botros. He is the second elder brother to three sisters and two brothers Amir Mahrous and Hani Mahrous considered to be two of the best Sound Engineers in the Middle East. Nasr was educated in a Public School in Heliopolis.

He started at a very early age in the world of music when he was working with his father who was also one of the biggest music makers in the 60's and 70’s, working in Cairo and other surrounding villages with Artists such as Mohamed Roshdy, Karem Mahmoud

, Moharram Fouad and Mohamed Kandeel, he has also worked with female artists e.g. Nadia Mostafa, Sabrine and many others. Mr. Mahrous also owns 2 of the most famous recording studios M-Sound 1 and M- Sound 2 the studios are run by his 2 other sons, Amir Mahrous and Hani Mahrous.
He worked at that period as a Cassette distributor for the albums his father would produce, his brother Amir Mahrous was working with him too, the two brothers would travel from town to town and village to village all over Egypt distributing their Father’s productions.
And in spite of all the success, Nasr Mahrous has a great respect for his father, he even keeps on referring the reason of his success to his father who taught him how to become an artist. both father and son never stopped working together.. They both release albums produced by the father and labeled and distributed by Free Music. Mentioning especially the last two albums of the late Mohammed Roshdy who filmed 2 video clips directed by Nasr Mahrous.

Record business

Late '80s Nasr Mahrous decided to have his own business after he has discovered his passion to music and his ability to make a unique style in Arabic music.

He founded his record company by the name of FREE MUSIC

compared to his young age back then.

Amin Sami was the first singer with a great vocal discovered by Nasr, He signed with the company and released three successful albums.
Nasr Mahrous had not gone too far before he decided to go on a path where no one else has ever gone before, he rediscovered artists, wiped off the dust on some, polished the vocals of others and refreshed their talents, and helped them successfully go back to the top of the charts in new styles and looks, adding his magical touch to their music.

He started with Samir Sroor who was in the '70s one of the best saxophone players in the Arab world, he was a member of Al- Maseyah Band with the late singer Abdel Halim Hafez

's great art, he got in contact with Sroor and together they released five of the most successful instrumental albums under the name (Ashek El-Sax) meaning Saxophone Lover.. The albums included many instrumental pieces of Abdel Halim Hafez

's most famous tracks.

Khaled Agag is another name of a great masculine voice, but not very great luck with record companies, until he met Nasr Mahrous, he released 4 very successful albums with a few huge hits and couple of video clips directed by Nasr Mahrous himself.

Mohammed Fouad was already a well known singer, but as he was working on his debut film Ismaeleya Rayeh Gaay he met Nasr Mahrous who was producing its soundtrack album Kamannana and that was the first album signed between them..Both film and soundtrack were great success, so the artist and the producer released another successful album Elhob Elhaee’ee with a very successful video clip of the song Elhob Elhaee’ee meaning "The True Love" and it was filmed in a school (Collège de la Salle) with hundreds of little kids singing about the true love of family members.

Mohamed Mohie was a young artist who released couple of albums but still looking for a good production company to enhance his talent, so he joined the team of Free Music, and released two albums of which Nasr Mahrous directed three video clips of the hit songs.

In the '80s Nasr Mahrous was a fan of Mohamed Mouir who was a very well know pop artist back then, but stayed quite far away from the music world for a long time. he signed under the label of Free Music in the year 2000 and released his first album (Fi Eshk Elbanat – In the love of girls) which was a great success, and they both decided to go for another successful album (Albi Masaken shaabeya – My Heart is suburbs) and filmed the very famous video clip of So, Ya So.

The Star Maker

In the late 90's Nasr Mahrous went back to making stars and discovering special quality vocals.. but he never opened the door of auditioning talents, he was only following his sense in music and he was seeing and hearing different voices randomly, so came across a few good singers and wanted to test the waters before releasing albums for them, so he started a series of compilations called Free Mix  in which he released singles for each artist.. in these compilations Nasr Mahrous discovered his own voice and sang two songs under a southern Egyptian nickname Hareedi singing a southern Egyptian accent.

Bahaa, Sultan was another talent, Nasr loved his voice and it was he who named him 'Sultan", in the Arabic music world it mean a Leader in singing, the single (Ehlef – Swear) was released in the first Free Mix compilation was very successful and was followed with an equally successful debut album in 1999 (Yalli Mashi – You who're Leaving) and another one in 2001 (Talat Da'aye'e – Three Minutes) and then (Oum Ou’af wenta betkalemni – Stand up when you talk to me) which became a funny slogan in the Arabic world.. and the latest Album was (Kan Zaman – Once Upon a time) it included his hit single (Elwad Albo beyewga’oo – The Lad’s heart aches) and this one took Sultan to become a real Sultan in the music Charts. Both Producer and artist are now taking the time to work on a new album.

Early 2002 Nasr Mahrous challenged the world with 2 of the most famous voices in the Arab World. Releasing his 3rd Free Mix album, but this time it had just 2 artists, the Cassette's side A had Sherine

with his (Habibi we Enta Ba'eed – Baby when You're away) the 2 songs were released at the same time as video clips and were on top of the charts as soon as they were released.. The Album was amazingly successful. Both young artists with the help of Nasr Mahrous become real stars.

the short haired next door girl reach stardom in no time after releasing 2 of her most successful albums (Garh Tani – Another wound) and (Lazem A'eesh – I must Live). Nasr Mahrous also directed 6 great video clips. After this great success of the young singer, she was showered with very tempting offers from other music production companies that she couldn't resist, so she decided to break her contract with Nasr Mahrous to move to another company in 2006.

The romantic young singer Tamer Hosni, released 5 massively successful albums (Hob - Love), (Enaya Bethebak- My Eyes love you), (ELganna Fi Beyotna – Paradis is in Our Houses), (Ya Bent El Eh- What a girl You are) and finally (Arrab Kaman- Get closer) which was the soundtrack of Nasr Mahrous' debut film in directing Captain Hima starring Tamer Hosni in 2008. Tamer was even a bigger start then Sherine at this stage and had his own visions and ideas about music and wanted to become independent from Nasr Mahrous' ideas and views, so he decided to break off the contract as well and go for another company that would give him the space to make his own style of music..

At the period of making stars Nasr Mahrous made a revolution in the music business when he released the first album made especially and fully for kids under the name Free Baby, it included eight great songs, four of them sung by a group of kids from the conservatoire of Cairo, the video clip of (Baba Fen – Where’s your Dad?) was directed by Nasr Mahrous, and it was the talk of the Arab world, Nasr Mahrous was invited by many TV channels from different Arab countries talking about the phenomenal of (Baba Fen?) and group of kids "Free Baby". Hareedi came out again in this album to sing 2 great songs (Heb Baba, Heb Mama -Love your Dad, love your Mom) which its video was directed and acted by Nasr Mahrous at the same time, the other song was (Old Hareedi) which was inspired by the international folklore song (Old McDonald's).

Free mix 4 was released in 2004 to test the waters of a couple new young singers. Souma

is good looking guy with a powerful voice, had just one song in the compilation (Ghamazat – Dimples) it was a major hit. Currently he's working on his upcoming album.

And Last but not least, Nasr Mahrous signed with Haitham Shaker a very talented young man with a great romantic voice, the company released for him (Garh El-nas – Hurting others).

Early in the year 2010 Nasr Mahrous had a health collapse and was rushed to the hospital for an emergency colostomy surgery, but not a musical collapse, He proved his existence even while lying in the hospital by releasing the debut album of Diab by the name of "Elaaw" meaning "Boo". the album was a great success enhanced with 2 great video clips.
And about 3 months later Nasr Mahrous headed again to the hospital for a Hartmann Colostomy reversal surgery, and he did it again while lying on his back in a hospital room he released Soma's 2nd album "Dah Habibi" meaning "that's my lover" and an outstanding video clip was aired to prove once again that he is The Music Maker in the Arab World, no matter what the circumstances are.
