The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course is one of the most sought after courses offered in the NITs and has a high job potential in the software houses in India and abroad. The first common admission test, NIMCET-05, was conducted in 2005. About 13,000 candidates appeared for NIMCET-05 for 420 seats available in NITs. Candidates with an aggregate (all subjects put together) of 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in Bachelor’s degree of minimum duration of 3 years from a recognized University in any discipline, with Mathematics as one of the subjects both in graduation and at 10+2 level are eligible.
