Mohammad Kibria

Mohammad Kibria was one of the leading artists in Bangladesh. He graduated from the Government School of Art in Calcutta (now Kolkata) in 1950. In 1951, he came to Dhaka where he started his career as an art teacher at the Nawabpur High School. In 1954 he joined as a teacher at the Government College of Arts and Crafts (currently the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka). Kibria studied painting and graphics at Tokyo University of Fine Arts as well. The painter died of old-age complications at LabAid Hospital in Dhaka on June 7 at the age of 82.
