Mithral Inc. is an American company founded in 1995 by Adam L. Beberg. Mithral currently specializes in distributed systems and software infrastructure, but also has a history in security and web applications. It was originally founded as Mithral Communications & Design Inc, but was shortened when the company focus changed.

Some of the ideas and technologies behind the company's primary product line Cosm, initially developed in 1995-96, were used in the volunteer distributed computing projects distributed.net
