Military Times is a monthly military history magazine, published by Current Publishing and the Chelsea Magazine Company.
, with George Clode, and published by Luke Bilton. The magazine covers all aspects of military history, from battles of the ancient world, up to more recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Faulkner, who has recently written on Lawrence of Arabia for The Independent, is co-director of the Great Arab Revolt Project.
Regular features in the magazine include soldier and regiment profiles, articles on battlefields, museums and weaponry, and reviews of the latest books, films and DVDs. According to Your Family Tree, it is 'jam-packed with interesting articles on historic battles and machinery of the warfare.' The magazine is aimed towards all enthusiasts of military history, including re-enactors, amateur historians, genealogists, current and ex-servicemen and women, aviation fanatics, and gamers.
In 2010, the magazine teamed up with Intel to celebrate the release of Sid Meier’s Civilization V battle strategy game for the PC, with a ‘Greatest Leaders of All Time’ feature.
Experts writing for the magazine have included Sean Rayment, the Defence correspondent of The Sunday Times, former SAS soldier Bob Shepherd, and military archaeologist, Keith Robinson.
As announced by In Publishing in August 2010, the first issue was published in October 2010 to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Of the introductory edition, The Army Rumour Service noted that the 'writers have not been afraid to look at affairs which have long been familiar to all to look at them without prejudice and draw conclusions that go against what has become accepted.'
