There have been at least two Midland League competitions in Scotland.

The first was formed in 1891 by nine clubs - Alloa Athletic, Alva, Bridge of Allan, Camelon, Clackmannan, Dunblane, Dunfermline Athletic, Grangemouth and Raith Rovers This league wound up when the stronger Central Football Combination
