Max Gunther was an Anglo-American journalist and writer, author of 26 books, including the finance best-seller The Zurich Axioms.

Born in England, Gunther migrated to the United States at age of 11 after his father, Franz Heinrich (Frank Henry) was transferred to the USA to be the manager of the New York branch of a leading Swiss bank, Schweizerischer Bankverein (Swiss Bank Corporation
