The Max Crawford Medal is awarded every second year by the Australian Academy of the Humanities
"In recognition of the outstanding achievements of scholars in the Humanities in Australia who are currently engaged in research and whose publications contribute towards an understanding of their disciplines by the general public..."
It is named in honour of the services to the Academy of Emeritus Professor R.M. "Max" Crawford.
