. The airport is part of an airport community, with homes located right on the airport, and hangars built next to most homes. The airport was opened in 1957 and it is open to the public.

The airpark is used by some of the Flight Schools based out of Daytona Beach Int'l (KDAB) and other nearby airports, who are the subject of much complaint on http://oncequietneighborhood.com. The owner of this website complains heavily about aircraft noise and promotes freedom of speech on the internet, but leaves no room for comments or contact information. The site owner bases most of his information on personal opinion. He has been known to write vulgar messages about airplanes in his lawn.
